504 Marrickville RdHuntleys Cove sits on the peninsula between Tarban Creek and the Parramatta River, so the trip begins by heading out along Mortimer Lewis Drive to Victoria Road. Follow it across the river to Darling Street and Balmain Road, then Darley Road, Foster Street and Tebbutt Street lead you south towards Marrickville Road.
All up it’s 10.9 km, roughly 24 minutes outside peak. There’s no train station in Huntleys Cove and no bus that reaches the clinic, so public transport takes a change or two. Driving is simpler. Park on Marrickville Road or MacArthur Parade, keeping an eye out for timed bays.
Open until 8pmWhen the dentist is 24 minutes away, it makes sense to bundle things. Your exam, X-rays and clean usually happen in the one appointment, and evening slots until 8pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays let the drive come after work rather than during it.
Regular visits help us keep an eye on old fillings, gum health and wear. Read about what’s included in a dental check-up and exam and what to expect from a professional clean.
Saturday family visitsSaturday appointments from 9am to 3pm let you book the kids in without missing school. If weekends already mean time at Riverglade Reserve, Henley Reserve or Tarban Creek Reserve, ask for the family’s visits on the same morning and make a single trip of it.
Children start with short, friendly visits, then cleans, fluoride and sealants as they grow. Learn about dental care for kids, and ask about custom-fitted sports mouthguards for children who play rugby, soccer or hockey.
Same-visit crownsLonger treatments are where having one clinic helps. Implants are planned and placed here, so every appointment happens in the same place. Find out more about dental implants near Huntleys Cove, including All-on-4 for people missing most of their teeth.
Because our crowns are made in-house, a damaged tooth can often be finished in a single visit, saving another drive across the river. For appearance, there’s whitening, bonding and veneers in composite, E-max or Zirkonzahn, costed after an exam.

Dr Dimitrios Thanos has been in practice for over 25 years and uses laser dentistry and digital X-rays day to day. Meet the team at The Smile Spot, or read about our clinic before you book.

Yes. Assessment, planning and placement of single implants and All-on-4 happen at our Dulwich Hill clinic, so there’s only one place to go. Implant placement is surgery and carries risks such as pain, swelling and infection, and it is not suitable for everyone. Results vary from person to person. We talk you through the alternatives at your consultation, and you are welcome to get a second opinion.
