504 Marrickville RdBy road it’s 26.5 km, roughly 49 minutes when traffic is light. Leave Tramore Place via Starkey, Tabora and Darley Streets to reach Warringah Road, then cut through on Babbage Road, Boundary Street and Penshurst Street. Mowbray Road and Willoughby Road take you down to the Warringah Freeway and the Cahill Expressway, and from there it’s on to Marrickville Road.
No train station sits close to this corner of the Forest district, and buses from Killarney Heights don’t come our way, so public transport needs a change. Driving is the simplest option. Park on Marrickville Road or in MacArthur Parade, and watch for timed bays.
Open until 8pmNobody wants to cross the harbour for a quick clean on a busy weekday. The trick is timing. Book a late slot on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, when we’re open until 8pm, or come on a Saturday between 9am and 3pm when the roads are calmer.
If you’re making the drive, it makes sense to cover everything in one go: exam, scale and clean, plus digital X-rays when they’re due. Here’s what happens at a dental check-up and during a professional clean.
Saturday family visitsWhen the whole family comes together, one trip can cover several people. Ask for back-to-back Saturday appointments so the children are seen one after another, a parent can slot in a check-up as well, and everyone is home by the afternoon.
Kids who play weekend sport around Killarney Heights, or run laps of Starkey Reserve, can have impressions taken for a mouthguard during that same visit, so there’s no extra trip. Read about dentistry for children and custom-made sports mouthguards.
Same-visit crownsFor longer treatment, a single clinic matters more than distance. Dental implants near Killarney Heights are planned and placed here, including All-on-4, so you aren’t shuttled between a surgeon and a dentist. Crowns are made in-house, which often means fewer return trips.
Cosmetic options include whitening for stained teeth, bonding and composite, E-max or Zirkonzahn veneers. We talk through the choices and costs after an exam, and payment plans or health fund claims can be sorted at the clinic.

Dr Dimitrios Thanos brings more than 25 years of practice to every plan, and he’ll be straight with you about how many visits a treatment needs. You can meet our dental team or learn about the clinic before booking.
