504 Marrickville RdFrom St Georges Road, take Forest Road and Penshurst Street, then Stoney Creek Road and King Georges Road up to the M5 Motorway. Leave it for Wolli Avenue, and Bray Avenue, Hartill-Law Avenue and Homer Street bring you to Wardell Road and onto Marrickville Road. That’s 11.9 km, about 24 minutes outside peak.
Penshurst station is a short walk from the shops, but there’s no direct public transport link to the clinic, so expect at least one change. Most people find the car simpler. Park on Marrickville Road or in MacArthur Parade beside us, and check the signs on the timed bays.
Open until 8pmIf your weekdays revolve around Penshurst station and Forest Road, a lunchtime visit across town rarely works. Evenings do. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays the last appointments run until 8pm, so you can get home, grab the car and still be seen. The clinic is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Each check-up and exam looks at your teeth, gums and existing fillings, with digital X-rays when they’re due. A professional scale and clean removes the build-up that brushing misses, and it’s easy to book straight after the exam.
Saturday family visitsPole Depot Park, Sunnyhurst Reserve and the other green spaces nearby keep local kids busy, and weekends fill up fast. Saturday sessions run from 9am to 3pm, so a check-up can sit around sport or a trip to Westfield Hurstville rather than eating into a school day.
Young patients get a relaxed introduction to the chair before anything else happens. Read about dentistry for children, and if they play a contact sport, a mouthguard made to fit their teeth is worth organising before the season starts.
Same-visit crownsA chipped front tooth or a colour you’ve stopped liking can often be improved. We talk through teeth whitening options, bonding and composite and E-max veneers, then explain what each one involves and costs once we’ve examined your teeth.
Cracked or heavily filled teeth may need a crown, and ours are made in-house, so same-visit crowns are often possible. Missing a tooth? Implants and All-on-4 are planned and placed here too. Start with dental implants near Penshurst.

Dr Dimitrios Thanos has been practising for more than 25 years. One clinic can handle the whole family’s care, from routine cleans to implants, which saves juggling several practices. Meet the people you’ll see, or find out more about our Dulwich Hill practice.
