Driving From Kensington To Dulwich Hill

Head down Tunstall Avenue to Gardeners Road, then follow Kent Road, Ricketty Street and Canal Road across to the Princes Highway. Railway Road, Gleeson Avenue and Railway Parade bring you out onto Marrickville Road. The trip is 9.6 km, roughly 21 minutes outside peak, and it skirts around the city rather than going through it.

Catching public transport from Kensington means at least one change, because no bus or light rail runs straight to us. Green Square station is about 1.7 kilometres from the suburb centre, but most people find the car easier. Park on Marrickville Road or in MacArthur Parade beside the clinic, keeping an eye on the timed bays.

Regular Check-Ups For Kensington Locals

When your week is shaped by Anzac Parade traffic or a commute into town, a daytime slot can be hard to protect. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday bookings run to 8pm, so you can come across after work once the roads have eased. On Fridays and Saturdays the clinic opens at 9am and closes at 3pm.

A regular visit includes an exam, digital X-rays when they’re due and time to talk through anything that’s bothering you. Our pages on routine dental check-ups and professional teeth cleaning explain what happens in the chair.

Kids’ Dentistry For Kensington Families

Plenty of Kensington weekends start at Fitzpatrick Park or Kokoda Memorial Park. A Saturday booking lets the dentist fit around that instead of cutting into the school day, and brothers and sisters can often be seen one after the other.

Children come to us for first visits, cleans, fluoride and fissure sealants. Read about dental care for children, and before training starts, ask about a mouthguard moulded to your child’s teeth, made from impressions taken in the clinic.

Cosmetic And Restorative Work Near Kensington

Stained enamel, a chipped front tooth or an old filling that has turned grey are common reasons people come in. We can talk through whitening treatments, bonding and composite or E-max veneers, with an exam first so the options and costs are clear before anything begins.

Cracked or heavily filled teeth can be covered with crowns made in the same visit, since we make them in-house. Missing a tooth? Our guide to dental implants near Kensington covers single implants and All-on-4, planned and placed in Dulwich Hill.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to drive from Kensington?

About 21 minutes outside peak, covering 9.6 km via Gardeners Road, Canal Road and the Princes Highway before you turn onto Marrickville Road.

Is there public transport from Kensington to the clinic?

Not directly. Any trip needs a change, so most Kensington patients find driving simpler. Green Square is the closest train station to the suburb centre.

Where do I park when I arrive?

Use the street parking on Marrickville Road or in MacArthur Parade, which runs beside the clinic. Some bays are time-limited, so check the signs before leaving the car.

Can Kensington patients book a Saturday or evening visit?

Yes. Saturdays run from 9am to 3pm, and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday appointments go until 8pm. We’re closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.

What should I do in a dental emergency near Kensington?

Ring (02) 9569 0199 as soon as we open and describe the problem. The team will book you into the earliest appointment available.

Do you take new patients from Kensington?

Yes, new patients are welcome. Book online or call us, and mention if you feel nervous so sedation options can be explained before treatment.

Can my Kensington kids see the dentist on a weekend?

Yes. Saturday appointments suit school-age children, and we see kids for first visits, cleans, sealants and custom sports mouthguards.

Are dental implants available for Kensington patients?

Yes. Dr Thanos plans and places single implants and All-on-4 at the Dulwich Hill clinic, and explains the costs after your consultation. Implant placement is surgery and carries risks such as pain, swelling and infection, and it is not suitable for everyone. Results vary from person to person. We talk you through the alternatives at your consultation, and you are welcome to get a second opinion.
